Co-Op Horror Sim Cleaner Company Drops a Demo for PC

What if cleaning up disgusting crime scenes was your job? Okay, and what if the crime scenes were in deep space? Well, if that’s fine by you, too, then what if sometimes the corpses tried to eat you? Yep, the caveats never end in Cleaner Company, a new title which just dropped a free demo for PC.

The first demo for Cleaner Company is now available to download on Steam and the Epic Games Store. So, just throw on a hazmat suit and see what being a space janitor is actually like. The game puts you in the Star Wipers crew, and your workplace is full of blood, gore, spores, monsters, gravity problems and an occasional meteor.

The Cleaner Company demo takes you to The Flying Canteen, an intergalactic restaurant that used to be known for its stellar views and cheap food. These days, though, it’s more of a disaster zone, with meddling monsters running around and stains basically everywhere.

You can play Cleaner Company solo, or there’s 2-4 player co-op available for the demo. Blackouts and communications malfunctions can mess with your teamwork. You can even gamble your team’s earnings and potentially lose all your friends.

The actual cleaning uses a bunch of sci-fi-flavoured equipment, including cosmic vacuums, trash grinders, and powerwashers. Completing challenges unlocks new gear and levels, while you can spend the earnings upgrading equipment, health, damage and speed.

And then there are the chickens!

There are mutated chickens out there. Also, random events, disastrous physics, hostile creatures and your friends can all interrupt your cleaning rhythm. The company-mandated hazmat suit also isn’t enough to protect you from environmental hazards or the game’s slapstick nonsense.

Cleaner Company is being developed by Wildflame Studio and published by Mythwright, with a release planned for 2026. Take a look at the game below.
