Story Highlights
  • Subway Loop is now available on iOS, turning an ordinary subway ride into an eerie horror experience.
  • Spot 50 anomalies hidden among passengers, posters, train interiors, and station announcements.
  • Five difficulty options offer everything from a relaxed introduction to a Nightmare mode.

Ever looked at an ordinary subway carriage and wondered what would happen if something felt just a little off? Subway Loop takes that idea and turns it into an unsettling horror experience where your attention to detail could be the only thing keeping you from being trapped forever.

Developed by Pulsar Games, the first-person spot-the-anomaly game is now available on iOS, with an Android release also planned.

Decide whether to leave the train or stay aboard based on what you notice

At first, everything looks normal. You are aboard the same subway car, surrounded by familiar seats, posters, passengers, and flickering lights. But as the ride continues, you might notice something that wasn’t there before: a passenger behaving strangely, or even a station announcement that doesn’t sound quite right.

The atmosphere is where Subway Loop gets interesting; those dimly lit carriages, muted colours, empty stretches of seats, and unsettlingly ordinary surroundings create an eerie feeling. They don’t need to throw jump scares at you, but yes, there are a few from what I see.

Your task is simple, at least on paper. If you spot an anomaly, get off at the next station. If everything looks exactly as it should, stay on the train. Make the wrong call, however, and you will be sent back to the beginning or your last checkpoint.

There are 50 anomalies to discover, and not all of them are visual. Some can only be heard, making headphones particularly useful if you want to catch every little detail. A flipped newspaper or a changed poster might be easy to notice, but subtle environmental changes and unusual announcements will put your observation skills to the test.

Subway Loop offers five difficulty options, ranging from Easy, which helps you learn the carriage, to Very Hard, where anomalies become much more subtle and checkpoints disappear. Nightmare mode takes a different approach, focusing exclusively on the horrors.

You can now get Subway Loop on your iPhone or iPad through the App Store for $2.99. The game is also available on PC, Mac, and Linux, with a free demo available on itch.io. An Android version is planned for a later release, although no specific date has been announced.
