With Halloween on the horizon in just a few short weeks, many fans of the holiday are revisiting their favorite classic franchises in anticipation of October 31. Classic horror movie franchises, like Alien, The Shining, and Friday the 13th, often release new projects and collaborations around October -- check out Crystal Lake and Carrie, if you haven't already -- and now Halloween's Michael Myers will be joining them in the spotlight this year.
Michael Myers has instilled fear in generations of viewers, from the first Halloween film's debut in 1978 to Halloween Ends in 2022. Coming from Panick Entertainment this November is a brand-new comic series, Halloween: The Game Comic #1, which will shed more light on the acclaimed killer's origin story and the circumstances that led up to his attacks on the town of Haddonfield.
Panick Entertainment's Halloween Comic Series Debuts November 2026 With a Video Game Twist
Halloween: The Game Comic #1 will be available November 4, 2026, and it is based upon not only the pre-existing Halloween franchise, but also on a recently released video game, which can be played single-player or multiplayer. Halloween: The Game, which was released September 8, 2026, places players in Michael Myers' shoes through a survival horror experience.
In Halloween: The Game, created by IllFonic and Gun Interactive, players are given the choice between taking on the role of killer Michael Myers and carrying out murders without being caught, or playing as a resident of Haddonfield and saving themselves and others from the murderer using weapons and quick decision-making. The November 2026 comic, Halloween: The Game Comic #1, is rooted in the video game's universe.
With writing by Hans Rodionoff and Adam F. Goldberg and art by Eamon Winkle, Ivan Dedov, and Robert Nugent, Halloween: The Game Comic #1 features a truly talented team, including contributors to the video game itself, further connecting the two projects. Five issues total are planned for the Halloween: The Game comic run, offering plenty of opportunities to expand upon the lore of one of the most amazing horror movie franchises of all time.
Halloween: The Game Allows Fans to Experience the Film's Events Firsthand
Lovers of the Halloween franchisewon't want to miss playing Halloween: The Game for themselves, but the comic can still be enjoyed without ever engaging with the video game. As a prequel comic, Halloween: The Game Comic #1 begins shortly before the events of the Halloween 1978 movie, chronicling Michael Myers' Smith's Grove Sanitarium escape before terrorizing the residents of Haddonfield.
By focusing on events that were not shown in the Halloween movie, the 28-page comic offers a fresh perspective that builds upon existing stories and characters in the franchise, rather than just offering a repeat of a familiar story. The last Halloween movie, Halloween Ends, hit theaters several years ago, and the film franchise seems to be at least paused for now, so anyone missing this iconic horror world should look no further than the Halloween: The Game Comic series.
