Some big names from the horror world have been removed from the Dead by Daylight roster after spending years as playable killers in the game. The trend continues with another big horror icon set to be removed from the in-game shop, making him unavailable for new players to purchase and play as.
It's been announced by Behaviour Interactive that Chucky, the killer doll from the Child's Play franchise, will be pulled from Dead by Daylight on Nov. 24, 2026. Players who purchase Chucky before the deadline will be able to retain access to him, along with his add-ons and cosmetics. The killer can also continue to be leveled up with Bloodpoints for any player who purchases Chucky before he is removed from all platform stores next month.
Say Goodbye to The Good Guy on Nov. 24
For players who did not unlock Chucky, his three perks will be added to the General perk pool for use on other characters. They will be given different names to no longer have a direct association with Chucky. These include renaming "Hex: Two Can Play" to "Hex: Eye for an Eye," "Friends Til the End" to "One Track Mind," and "Batteries Included" to "Gaining Steam." While some added characters have come with their own maps, Chucky did not, so players will not need to worry about losing access to a specific map.
In recent years, Pinhead and Michael Myers were also removed from Dead by Daylight. This was because each of these characters were getting their own new video games — Hellraiser: Revival and Halloween: The Game — both of which were recently released. Chucky being pulled from the game at this point might spark some speculation that the character could be getting his own horror game as well, but such a project has not been officially announced at this time.
Other New Killers Have Been Coming In to DBD
It is possible that Chucky could come back to Dead by Daylight at some point in the future. The game previously removed characters from Stranger Things in 2021, only to add them back two years later when a new licensing deal was reached. With that noted, there is no guarantee that Chucky will ever be made available to purchase again, so anyone interested in playing as him is best off unlocking him now while there is still time.
In any case, there continue to be new additions brought onto the roster amid other names coming out. One of the most requested killers, Friday the 13th's Jason Voorhees, was finally added to Dead by Daylight this year amid the game's tenth anniversary celebration. Behaviour also announced that Art the Clown of the Terrifier franchise is on the way, and he is expected to join the lineup of playable killers in November.
Chucky, called "The Good Guy" in the game, is available to purchase on Dead by Daylight until Nov. 24, 2026.
